This Cookie Policy explains how PrizeRunner Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on PrizeRunner.com and any associated applications (the “Services”).

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function properly and provide information to the site owner.

We may also use similar technologies such as:

• local storage
• pixels
• tracking scripts

For simplicity, we refer to all of these as “cookies”.

3. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• ensure the website functions correctly;
• keep your account and sessions secure;
• remember your preferences;
• improve performance and user experience;
• understand how visitors use the site; and
• measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and, where you have accepted Marketing cookies, support advertising through Meta.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Types of Cookies We Use

4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies and technologies are required for the operation, security or administration of the website, or to remember the cookie choices you have made. They cannot be switched off through our cookie settings.

We use:

• sessionid – used for session management and account login.
  Duration: 14 days
• csrftoken – used to protect the website against cross-site request forgery and other unauthorised requests.
  Duration: 364 days
• prizerunner_language – remembers your selected language preference.
  Duration: session cookie
• cookie_consent – records your cookie preferences so that we can respect your choices and avoid asking you again on every visit. This cookie is retained for 12 months. It is versioned so that we can ask you to make a new choice where our cookie practices materially change.

Your cookie choice is also stored in browser localStorage.

PECR position: These technologies are used without consent where the strictly necessary exception under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) applies.

Where use of these technologies also involves processing personal data, the applicable UK GDPR lawful basis for that processing is explained in our Privacy Policy.

4.2 Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), property G-D52WLV1HL3, to understand how visitors use PrizeRunner and to help us improve the website.

Google Analytics operates using Google Consent Mode v2.

The Google Analytics tag loads when you visit the website, including before you have made a cookie choice. Until you accept Analytics cookies, the relevant consent signals are set to denied.

In this state, Google Analytics sends a limited, cookieless and aggregated measurement ping. As configured by us, this:

• does not set analytics cookies;
• does not store information on your device;
• does not create a Google Analytics client ID; and
• cannot be used to recognise or link your browser across pages or separate visits.

If you accept Analytics cookies, Google Analytics then sets cookies including _ga and ga* and normal analytics measurement begins from that point.

Information collected after consent may include:

• pages visited;
• time spent on pages;
• navigation paths; and
• device and browser information.

Provider/recipient: Google Analytics / Google

Consent: Analytics cookies and normal GA4 measurement are only enabled if you accept the Analytics category.

Cookie duration: 2 years

Analytics cookies are not set without your consent. The cookieless measurement described above may still occur before consent.

4.3 Functionality Cookies

Functionality cookies and browser storage allow the website to remember optional choices you make and provide enhanced features.

For example, we may use browser storage to remember preferences such as whether you use the website in dark or light mode.

Non-essential Functionality storage is only enabled where you accept the Functionality category.

Legal basis: Consent, where consent is required.

4.4 Marketing Cookies and Technologies

We use the Meta Pixel (Pixel ID 1005215395388535) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and support advertising through Meta.

The Meta Pixel is not loaded unless you accept the Marketing category. Before you give Marketing consent, the Pixel does not load and no network request is made to Meta by the Pixel.

If you accept Marketing cookies:

• Meta's fbevents.js Pixel software is loaded;
• the _fbp cookie is set;
• the _fbc value may be read where it is present; and
• information about relevant activity on PrizeRunner may be sent to Meta for advertising and campaign measurement purposes.

For logged-in users, we also use Meta's Advanced Matching feature. This may provide Meta with:

• email address;
• first name;
• last name; and
• PrizeRunner user ID.

These values are hashed in your browser before being transmitted to Meta.

Legal basis: Consent.

The Meta Pixel and associated Marketing cookies are not used unless you accept the Marketing category.

Cookie duration: 90 days

5. Third-Party Cookies

We use third-party services in connection with some of the cookies and similar technologies described in this Policy.

These include:

• Google Analytics / Google, which receives analytics information as described in section 4.2; and
• Meta, which receives advertising and campaign measurement information through the Meta Pixel as described in section 4.4.

Some cookies used in connection with a third-party service may technically be stored as first-party cookies under the PrizeRunner domain. This does not change the purpose for which the cookie is used or the fact that information may be provided to the third-party service.

We do not sell personal data.

6. Consent and Control

When you first visit our website, you are presented with a cookie banner that allows you to:

• accept all cookies;
• accept only Strictly Necessary cookies; or
• manage your preferences separately for Analytics, Functionality and Marketing.

Strictly Necessary cookies and technologies are always active where they are required to operate the website, keep it secure or remember your cookie choices.

Before you make a choice, non-essential cookies are not set.

However, as explained in section 4.2, the Google Analytics 4 tag operates in Google Consent Mode with the relevant consent signals set to denied. In that state, it may send a limited cookieless and aggregated measurement ping without setting analytics cookies, storing information on your device, creating a client ID or recognising your browser across pages or visits.

The Meta Pixel does not load and does not make a network request to Meta unless you accept the Marketing category.

If you accept a category, the cookies and technologies associated with that category may then be enabled.

Your cookie preferences are stored in browser localStorage and mirrored to the cookie_consent cookie, which is retained for 12 months. The consent record is versioned so that we can ask you to make a new choice if our use of cookies materially changes.

You can change your preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link on the website.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings.

7. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings.

You can:
